Sunset Station Casino Show

July 3, 2004

Liz and I flew out of Philly Thursday night into L.A. and met up with Joe and Lu. We spent the night in the L.A. area then drove to Vegas Friday morning. Later that day we hooked up with Shock and Judy and hung out.

On Saturday we did more hanging out and eventually went to Hooters...the environment is good there. We seen Craig and Nancy at a table, so we joined em. A little later Phoenix Ray came in and it was good to see him and see that he is doing well. Later, we left for the show that was scheduled to start at 8 PM. While we were waiting, Mary came up and we chatted a bit. It was also good to see Mike and Sharon again.

There was no opening act and the show finally got started at 8:15 or so and the band played the usual set list and the crowd was enjoying every minute of it. This year, not only were the roaches being flushed out of the side stage area by Mel's bass, but also the crickets....it was interesting to watch the crickets react to Mel's bass...they ran around in a circle, kind of dazed and confused.

After the show, we went back to the Casino and had a pizza, then called it a night. We left Nevada on Sunday and flew back into Philly.
